Michael Duran, MD Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and Limb Salvage Specialist
Michael Duran, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in pediatric and adult musculoskeletal oncology, primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, and limb salvage procedures. He treats complex orthopedic conditions with a focus on preserving function, mobility, and quality of life. Dr. Duran is also an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, contributing to academic training and clinical education.
Dr. Duran earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. He pursued advanced subspecialty training through a Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the world’s leading cancer institutions. He is currently board eligible with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has extensive experience managing tumor-related conditions, complex fractures, and joint reconstruction.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Duran has an extensive background in orthopedic research, with multiple podium and poster presentations at national meetings, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and peer-reviewed publications in orthopedic journals. A commissioned officer in the United States Army and Arizona National Guard, he continues to serve as a physician supporting medical readiness. Dr. Duran brings the same discipline, leadership, and commitment to excellence to his medical practice that has defined his military and academic career.
